The hand is a complex structure which is vitally important in almost all activities of daily living (ADL's). ADL's include activities such as washing, dressing and eating. Pain in the hand can make ADL's more difficult and can result in time off from work and a loss of independence. Physiotherapy aims to restore functional activity of the hand and allow normal movement to return. Some of the more common causes of hand pain include:
