Assessment of neurological problems
Leeds Physiotherapy's Neurological patients come with a wide range of differing physical problems. During the initial assessment your physiotherapist will gain an understanding of how your condition affects you on a daily basis and what specific problems you would like to focus on throughout your treatment.
Diagnosis of neurological problems
Following the assessment your physiotherapist will talk you through their diagnosis which will cover the cause of your condition and how it produces the symptoms. They will also provide you with realistic prognosis and information on what impact treatment will have on the condition.
Treatment of neurological problems
Our physiotherapists will use specific therapeutic handling techniques to help stimulate nerves, realign posture and facilitate new movement patterns. Leeds Physiotherapy's neurology team are able to provide specialist treatment options which include constraint induced movement therapy, Saeboflex and functional electrical stimulation to ensure you receive the best possible care and stand the best chance recovery.
Home visits for neurological problems
Home visits allow our physiotherapists to assess and treat you in the comfort and familiarity of your own home. This enables us to identify problems which you encounter in and around the home on a daily basis. We can then provide treatment specifically designed to overcome these functional problems. We can also recommend any adaptations or equipment which may be required or deliver training for family members and carers to ensure they are able to provide you with appropriate care.
Clinic appointments for neurological problems
Leeds Physiotherapy has designed its service around you with early morning and evening appointments available to ensure we can find time to book you in. We are centrally located and open from 08:00-20:00 Monday to Friday and 09:15-16:00 weekends.
Gym rehabilitation for neurological problems
We can provide our neurological patients with supervised gym sessions. These enable you to push your rehabilitation onto new levels, provide you with instruction and programmes so that you have the confidence and ability to continue independently with the gym sessions.
Hydrotherapy for neurological problems
Hydrotherapy is a clinically effective treatment used by many of our neurological patients. Hydrotherapy can be used to reduce tone, stimulate new movement pathways and increase strength. Leeds Physiotherapy's neurological team are all highly skilled providers of safe and effective hydrotherapy and run one to one private treatment sessions.
