Hip surgery

The hip is a joint which is commonly damaged in older people through degenerative disorders (such as osteoarthritis) or trauma (such as a fall on ice). Damage to the hip can cause pain and reduction in available movement and these can lead to a loss of independence. Surgery is designed to help with these aspects however a lot of work is also required to achieve the best results from surgery.
